I strolled down to Starbucks this afternoon and came across the Irish festival down in the park. Why they have it a week before St Patricks Day is beyond me, but it was straight up packed. Shoulder to shoulder with drunken folks pretending to be Irish.
Anyway, I tried a couple dishes I've never tasted before, specifically lamb stew and a boxty. The lamb stew was pretty good. It reminded me of a tastier verison of beef stew. The boxty was a potato cake made from potato skins, mashed potatoes, garlic, and probably tons of butter. Way off the diet plan, but totally satisfying. I'll just have to run a few extra miles tomorrow.
